Bio: Originally a unicorn she was a former student of Princess Celestia Andromeda was a diligent student, doing her best to show she was worthy of being Celestia's personal pupil. Failing at this she shifted her focus to excelling at her studies, cutting herself off from others to study alone until she received a letter from Celestia sending her off to study a land that had little to no history written about it and was only known by word of mouth.
Excited she packed and headed out as soon as she possibly could, hoping to earn favor from the princess. Months of grueling travel and many letters to her princess of what she saw, what she learned and who she met she finally reached her destination, a mountain. Distraught she looked around to find some sort of clue as to what she was sent to find, the elusive Empire of the Lost Princess. Panicked, she trotted around the area trying to find some evidence the empire was there until she tripped and expected to hit the mountainside but instead tumbled down a large tunnel until she was in a clearing.
As she stood up she shook her head, and looked around, horrified, ponies standing still, staring at the center of the clearing, forever frozen in stone, anguish in their face as they stare at their Princess, set in stone, tangled with a strange beast in a losing battle, a picturesque moment forever captured in time.
Hurriedly she attempted to contact Celestia to realize her magic did not work, she quickly looked around, not being able to find where she had entered the empire. She sat defeated and resigned herself to stay in this desolate place forever until she heard a soft murmur of a voice, getting up she looked around trying to pinpoint where it was coming from.
As she walked though the crowds of frozen ponies she came to the center of the clearing where the voice was clear, ancient and wise. The Princess, a gorgeous unicorn pinned by the unknown beast layed there, a soft glow coming from the tip of her horn. The unicorn told her of what the beast was and swore her to never speak its name for it would be free, she explained the spell she used to turn her and the beast to stone but underestimated its power as it projected the spell onto the rest of her land. She explained to her the beast was originally her husband, corrupted by greed and anger. Andromeda listened, feelin tears well up in her eyes as she vowed to free them.
Studying the spell the princess had used she attempted again and again to modify it, failing at every turn and watching the flowers she used for tests destroyed or brought back partially whole. For months she tried, over and over again before finally she succeeded.
She was filled with a pride and exhilleration to free the princess and her ponies before the thought donned on her that she needed to free the beast as well. Closing her eyes she concentraited, feeling her strength go as her magic clouded the clearing full of the citizens of the lost empire, one by one the stone seemed to melp away from their bodies and they began what they had been doing when they were first frozen, crying and yelling for their prince to stop and for their ruler to be okay.
Opening her eyes Andromeda watched as the princess and her husband, the beast, were freed from their prison and the fight continued. Using the last of her strength she charged, knocking the beast off the princess, trying to use any spell to help free him from the curse that overwhelmed his mind, a spell she learned to help the grieving and upset forget their worries. She yelled the spell at the Princess and she too joined in, gathering strength from her followers who cried and begged for their prince to be back. Together they lifted the curse, turning the beast back into the unicorn Prince and him and Andromeda fell unconsious from the exertion, having a dream of Celestia speaking to her and praising her.
She woke up days later to the smiling face of the Princess and the regretful face of her husband as he apologized profusely to her. She smiled and shifted, feeling an uncomfortable weight from her sides.
Blahblah she now rules the Hidden Mountain Empire after the Prince and Princess' passing
